And I'm back!

Things are very different this time around and here's why!
1) I have a new partner in the form of Richard Damant!
1.1) For the foreseeable future I will be referring to Richard as Granny for reasons only he knows
1.2) Richard is almost the same as my dad except that he is:
1.2.1) Younger
1.2.2) Lighter
1.2.3) Faster
1.2.4) He talks when we're riding
1.2.5) He has tried more than 20 times to get up a hill in Tokai and has not yet been met with success
2) We are lucky enough to welcome a sponsor on board! Life Health Care agreed to join us on this journey and have kitted us out with so much kit & even more importantly they paid our entry for the 2013 edition! Words cannot truly express how grateful we are for the Life team coming on board!
3) We're going to win...hahaha, Obviously that's a joke. Kev's going to win, we're just going to have fun and raise as much money as we can for the Red Cross Children's Hospital! I would like to beat Trevor Boddington though, Trevor & Annie I hope you are reading this!

Richard is quite possibly an even bigger cycling fan than I am - I know it doesn't sound right - but when he starts putting posts up on this site you will definitely be able to see his enthusiasm towards both the sport and the other aspect of our ride, the fund raising!

As far as my training goes I've had a pretty hectic vacation with a lot of riding, a lot of running and a lot of core work. Nothing like a bit of cross training to get yourself going again! I'm just trying to put in some base mileage now and am coming off the back of 400km in 3 days which has been tiring! The main events for me until December are the Karoo2Coast, Gravel Travel Ultra Marathon and the Trans Baviaans 24hour 240km trek through the Baviaans Kloof!

Thanks for checking in,
Stay tuned for more updates from both myself and Rich
